Job summary

CAI is seeking a QA/Disaster Recovery Test Engineer to execute test plans and lead DR test cycles for an AWS GovCloud hosting environment supporting a state government health and human services client. This role focuses on validating failover, data integrity, and recovery objectives across multi-region deployments.

The position is full-time and fully remote, reporting to the Technical Development Lead and DevOps/SRE team, with concentrated involvement during initial build/transition and

Qualifications

3+ years of QA or test engineering in cloud environments.
Hands-on AWS GovCloud (US) experience.
Experience validating disaster-recovery failover against defined RPO/RTO targets.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Execute DR failover tests across two GovCloud regions against defined RPO/RTO targets.
Lead recurring DR test cycles, documenting results and remediation items to closure.
Validate data integrity after failover or migration events — row counts, checksums, referential integrity, and dashboard output comparison against the source environment.
Support cutover rehearsals during transition, including rollback-procedure validation.
Partner with the Technical Development Lead and DevOps/SRE team on test environment setup.
