Job summary

Eliassen Group seeks a QA Database Tester to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions remotely in the United States. You will rely on strong SQL skills to validate data integrity and perform API tests to ensure integration points meet requirements.

You will design and execute manual and automated test cases, collaborate with Developers, Analysts, and stakeholders, and contribute to test strategy and continuous improvement in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT with a focus on QA and testing.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests.
• Strong SQL/database testing skills, including complex queries.
• Experience with Snowflake and/or DB2 databases.
• Experience performing API testing using Postman, SOAP, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of scripting languages used for test automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Insurance policy administration systems experience preferred.
• Agile development environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to define, develop, and execute test strategies for new and existing applications.
• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on user stories and business requirements.
• Validate database functionality and data integrity using advanced SQL queries.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or SOAP-based testing platforms.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is built into the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for testing processes, automation, and quality standards.
