Job summary

Scopely is seeking a Senior QA Manager, Automation & Tooling to own the automation strategy for a live AAA mobile title. Remote in US/Canada or hybrid in Culver City. Lead an automation team, define standards, and partner with Engineering and QA to embed testing in CI/CD and uphold quality across frequent releases.

The role requires 8+ years in QA with 4+ in leadership, plus hands-on coding in C# and experience with mobile testing and tooling. You will mentor teams and drive quality metrics.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in QA, test automation, or quality engineering with 4+ years in leadership.
• Proven automation strategy and infrastructure for complex products, ideally built from ground up.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD and scaling for live releases.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the QA automation strategy for a live mobile game, including scalable frameworks, tooling, standards, and quality gates.
• Build and lead an automation team from the ground up, including hiring, team structure, processes, mentorship, and career development.
• Design, build, and implement automated testing across UI, API, integration, regression, end-to-end, mobile, and live-operations workflows.
• Evaluate automation approaches and tools based on coverage, maintainability, speed, and value.
• Establish automation standards, coding practices, test architecture, reporting, observability, and quality gates.
• Partner with Engineering and QA to prioritize automation and integrate testing into CI/CD.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through framework design, prototypes, code reviews, automation implementation, and test-script development.
• Mentor manual testers as they develop coding and automation skills, defining metrics for coverage and stability.
• Communicate quality risks and investment needs while partnering with Product, Live Operations, Marketing, and other teams.
• Champion quality and release excellence while ensuring automation supports exploratory testing.
