Job summary

Aretum is seeking a QA Automation Test Engineer to support an Agile team delivering web and API applications for a federal government client. You will plan, develop, and maintain manual and automated testing solutions to ensure quality, performance, accessibility, and reliability.

This role requires experience with automation tools, Playwright, Docker, and CI/CD in Azure DevOps, plus strong collaboration across product, development, and QA. U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance
• 5+ years of experience using automation tools to test systems and applications
• 3+ years of experience with automation testing tools, Playwright preferred
• Experience developing automation testing strategies and frameworks from the ground up
• Experience performing functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web applications, APIs, and integrated systems
• Develop and maintain test strategies and plans to support automation
• Provide clear feedback via detailed descriptions, acceptance criteria, and documented steps
• Build and maintain reusable automated test scripts and components
• Design, implement, and support scalable test automation frameworks across teams
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing throughout the lifecycle
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, Developers, and Testers to align quality expectations
• Contribute to Definition of Done by ensuring coverage and quality before story completion
• Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback
• Develop and execute load, performance, and scalability tests
• Analyze results, identify defects, and provide actionable quality improvements
