Job summary

GDH is seeking a Python software engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications and microservices. You will build RESTful APIs with FastAPI/Flask/D Django REST, model data, review code, and contribute to architecture decisions.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development tools, SQL optimization, Git workflows, and containerized deployments on AWS/Azure/GCP, with strong remote collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development using Python as a primary language.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server).
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code or similar).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask/Django REST Framework).
• Familiarity with ORM frameworks (SQLAlchemy) and migrations.
• Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Working knowledge of Docker and cloud deployment patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for translating requirements into solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote/asynchronous collaboration.
• Education, training or certifications or equivalent experience; U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Python applications and microservices.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django REST Framework.
• Design data models and integration patterns for reliable DB operations.
• Participate in code reviews and raise quality standards.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools and assess generated code for quality and security.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance via indexing and tuning.
• Manage source code with Git and support CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
• Develop and deploy containerized apps using Docker and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Create and maintain technical documentation for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
