Job summary

OMG Federal is seeking a skilled Python software developer for a full-time remote role based in the Washington, DC area. You will develop Python 3.x middleware, create secure REST APIs, and integrate with databases and internal systems while aligning with federal cybersecurity and accessibility requirements.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, support CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot production issues, and produce technical docs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; high school diploma required
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.x
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Experience developing and supporting REST APIs
• Experience integrating applications with databases and enterprise systems
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work remotely with distributed teams
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Python 3.x middleware and backend services
• Design, build, and support secure REST APIs for internal and external integrations
• Develop solutions using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar Python frameworks
• Create workflow automation and system integration solutions across enterprise platforms
• Integrate applications with databases, APIs, and other enterprise data sources
• Support modernization of legacy systems into scalable, maintainable architectures
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demos
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and support system performance optimization
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational guides
• Collaborate with technical teams, program leadership, and stakeholders to deliver project milestones
• Ensure solutions meet federal cybersecurity, compliance, and accessibility requirements
