Job summary

Deep Fission, Inc. is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to oversee SEC filings, technical accounting, equity administration, and internal controls in a remote-first environment. You will partner with the Controller on disclosures and major accounting matters as the company scales and evolves its processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Forms 10-K/10-Q and SEC disclosures.
• Experience with ASC 718 stock-based compensation and equity reporting.
• Experience with ICFR and SOX readiness and external audits.
• Ability to translate complex accounting into clear memoranda and disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Manage quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K, and other filings as needed.
• Coordinate XBRL/ iXBRL tagging and external filing processes.
• Research accounting positions and prepare memoranda to support conclusions.
• Maintain equity administration and reporting, including RSUs and stock options.
• Support ICFR design, testing, and SOX readiness with internal and external teams.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and audits.
• Assist month-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Draft accounting policies and improve reporting procedures as the company grows.
