Job summary

Michigan Afterschool Partnership (MASP) is hiring a Public Affairs Manager to advance our mission through compelling communications, advocacy support, and media relations across Michigan. This remote role requires travel and in-person meetings, and is grant-funded.

The position translates budget data and program outcomes into accessible content for policymakers, media, and partners while coordinating with MASP staff on advocacy, digital, media, and event priorities.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in public affairs or related fields such as advocacy communications or government relations.
• Proficient in graphic design and producing brand-consistent materials.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Squarespace, and SEO tools.
• Excellent writing and editing to translate policy into clear messages.
• Knowledge of state legislative and budget processes and bipartisan engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support MASP’s public affairs communications and policy goals across the state.
• Design and produce reports, infographics, talking points, and campaign materials.
• Maintain MASP website, advocate landing pages, and analytics basics.
• Plan and write email communications to members, partners, and advocates.
• Build relationships with media, legislators, and stakeholders; support events.
