Job summary

Vituity is seeking a Psychiatry Senior Director of Operations to lead the national psychiatry/behavioral health operations across all practices and programs. You will own day-to-day performance, drive patient volume, ALOS, and quality benchmarks, and develop playbooks for launches and wind-downs.

You will implement policies to maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state licensing, manage the specialty P&L, and partner with IT and billing teams to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field required.
• 8-10 years of progressive operations management experience, including leadership of multi-level teams required.
• At least five (5) years in psychiatry or behavioral health required OR equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Lean certification preferred.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, physician specialty management, and multi-location operations preferred.
• Experience in hospital or inpatient behavioral health settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare management and reimbursement concepts.
• Knowledge of payer contracting and utilization review dynamics in behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the psychiatry/behavioral health operations across all practices and programs.
• Own day-to-day operational performance with accountability for patient volume, ALOS, and quality benchmarks.
• Develop and implement practice-level operational playbooks for launches, stabilization, and wind-down.
• Establish operating policies to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state licensing.
• Monitor and manage performance metrics and provider productivity targets.
• Oversee specialty P&L and the operations budget, vendor relationships, and staffing.
• Collaborate with IT to align technology with clinical and operational priorities.
• Provide leadership development and succession planning for direct and indirect reports.
