Job summary

H.T. Prof Executive Search lists a Power Systems Test Engineer, Protection & Commissioning Midwest (remote) role. You will work from home and travel to substations across the upper Midwest, testing and commissioning protection and control systems for electric utilities.

You will perform on-site testing, troubleshoot HV equipment, read schematics, and report findings to project leads. This direct-hire position requires 3–5+ years in the field and a relevant EE degree.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Bachelor's degree in EE or related field; NETA not required.
• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and travel.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and DC elementaries; report findings on-site.
