Job summary

Pure PM is seeking an Associate Property Management Attorney for a remote, United States-wide role. You will oversee real estate and property management litigation, coordinate with outside counsel, and ensure compliance with landlord-tenant and housing regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a J.D. and 3+ years of civil litigation experience, with strong research and analytical abilities. This exempt, full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
• At least 3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably involving real estate, property management, insurance defense, or landlord-tenant disputes.
• Experience interpreting or applying federal, state, and local regulations related to landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing, rent control, or habitability.

Responsibilities

• Litigation oversight and dispute resolution across operating jurisdictions, including small claims matters.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and manage external firms across civil litigation matters.
• Ensure regulatory and administrative compliance with federal, state, and local laws (e.g., Landlord-Tenant Acts, DRE/REC, Fair Housing, HUD/EPA).
• Prepare responses to subpoenas, deposition notices, document demands, formal complaints, and government audits.
• Draft and review operational agreements, corporate policies, and licensing documentation to stay compliant.
