Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster to manage low-to mid-level commercial first‑party property claims from assignment to resolution. You will investigate, evaluate coverage and damages, establish reserves, and negotiate settlements under supervision. You will support subrogation when applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of relevant insurance claims experience preferred.
• Current state adjuster’s license required.
• Experience handling commercial property or first-party claims preferred.
• Experience interpreting commercial package policies preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and investigative abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Adjust assigned claims to completion within approved authority.
• Review, analyze, and interpret commercial package policies to determine coverage.
• Investigate and evaluate claims using evidence to determine coverage, damages, responsible parties, and subrogation potential.
• Oversee independent adjusters, appraisers, vendors, and experts for on-site investigations and damage assessments.
• Obtain, review, and evaluate repair estimates and related documentation.
• Establish and maintain appropriate loss reserves.
• Identify claims with subrogation potential and support subrogation processes.
• Attend mediations for appropriate claim files.
• Maintain accurate claim files and diaries per policies.
• Prepare clear correspondence for insureds, claimants, witnesses, and stakeholders.
• Obtain approval before coverage denials.
• Prepare loss reports for reinsurers and insurers.
