Responsibilities

• Examines insurance policies and records to determine coverage.
• Interviews, telephones, and/or corresponds with claimants and witnesses.
• Inspects property damage to determine liability and methods of investigation.
• Estimates cost of repair or compensation.
• Prepares findings and negotiates settlements with claimants.
• Recommends litigation when settlements cannot be negotiated.
• Attends litigation hearings.
• Revises case reserves to cover probable costs.
• Assists in preparing loss experience reports.
