Bryten is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant (Remote) with affordable housing experience to support the financial health and operational success of our communities.

You will manage 3rd party accounts, perform monthly closings, audits, and ensure LIHTC/HUD compliance using RealPage/OneSite and other property management systems. This role offers remote work within the U.S. with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; accounting major preferred.
• 2+ years of property accounting experience preferred.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with time management excellence.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; knowledge of RealPage/OneSite desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately manage 3rd party accounts, recording income, expenses, assets and liabilities monthly.
• Process banking transactions including wires, transfers, deposits.
• Perform internal audits to ensure property compliance with policies and procedures.
• Maintain financial records for affordable housing properties with LIHTC/HUD compliance.
• Execute monthly closings: journal entries, reconciliations, reports (GAAP).
• Support budgeting by drafting initial property budgets and entering finalized budgets.
• Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies; archive supporting documents.
• Oversee delinquency reports, prepaid rent ledgers, security deposits, and refunds.
• Coordinate accounts payable and cash flow; assist year-end audits and tax filings.
• Deliver monthly financial reports on deadlines; manage lender reporting obligations.
