Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Prompt Engineer for a 100% remote role in the United States. You will define standards, patterns, and reference architectures for LLM-based applications and design prompt structures, retrieval strategies, and agentic workflows.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of software engineering experience, ships LLM-powered products, mentors engineers, and works with model teams to advance responsible AI, safety patterns, and scalable tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Six+ years of software engineering experience with LLM-based applications.
• Demonstrated experience shipping LLM-powered products to production.
• Deep familiarity with modern LLM APIs and agent frameworks.
• Strong understanding of retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience designing evaluation pipelines for non-deterministic systems.
• Strong Python skills and comfort with modern application frameworks.
• Commitment to responsible AI principles, safety, and policy considerations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Define organization-wide standards and reference architectures for LLM-based applications.
• Design prompt structures, templates, and retrieval strategies for production use cases.
• Architect agentic systems with tool use, planning, memory, and multi-step reasoning.
• Lead retrieval-augmented generation pipelines including chunking and reranking.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for prompt quality and end-to-end task success.
• Build internal tooling and libraries to accelerate LLM app development across teams.
• Establish guardrails and policy enforcement patterns for LLM-powered products.
• Collaborate with model engineering on prompt-model co-design and fine-tuning opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and applied scientists on prompt engineering and LLM architecture.
• Lead red-teaming exercises and improve robustness against adversarial inputs.
• Track latency, cost, and quality trade-offs and propose optimizations.
• Document patterns and lessons learned for internal reuse.
• Stay current with LLM capabilities and translate advances into guidance.
