Job summary

Kentro is hiring a remote Project Unanet Accountant to support our Accounting and Finance Team. You will execute and review project accounting transactions across Unanet, manage payroll close, and ensure compliance with government contracting requirements.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in government contracting accounting, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and strong Excel and Unanet skills. US Citizens or Green Card holders preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Government Contracting accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proficiency in Unanet, Excel, and Word with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Execute and review project accounting transactions to support daily project operations.
• Process timecard and labor adjustments in accordance with cost accounting and labor-charging policies.
• Review and validate employee expense reports for proper coding, documentation, and compliance with travel policies.
• Complete cost rate dilution entries and related adjustments as part of payroll close.
• Review and execute charge code authorizations.
• Support payroll, accounting, and billing cycles by completing required close activities and clearing outstanding issues.
• Reconcile payroll costs with Unanet and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare all Journal entries for monthly close cycle.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts.
• Assist with other ad-hoc as needed to support with Year-end close and Audit activities.
• Assist payroll team with employee timesheets follow up to ensure all timesheets are completed accurately and approved on time for payroll processing.
• Identify, elevate, and assist in resolving accounting, labor-charging, or compliance issues.
• Assist with time-period closeout by ensuring timecards are complete and submitted in a timely manner.
• Analyze time-charging activities to identify and remediate compliance issues, such as incorrect fringe and overhead labor charging.
