Job summary

American Bird Conservancy (ABC) is a fast-growing nonprofit seeking an enthusiastic Project Officer to grow the BirdsPlus Index, an initiative to measure conservation value on working lands using birds as indicators. This remote contractor position involves travel and will collaborate with the BirdsPlus Index Director to deliver high-quality biodiversity projects.

Qualifications

• Coordinate biodiversity monitoring projects from planning through completion.
• Manage project logistics, budgets, contracts, schedules, and deliverables.
• Proficient in English and Spanish for partner communication across the Americas.
• Willingness to travel 3–5 trips per year across the Americas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple biodiversity monitoring projects with timelines and budgets.
• Manage field deployments of ARUs and related equipment.
• Travel internationally 3–5 times annually for project activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for partner organizations and stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports and other project deliverables.
