Job summary

Renovo Search is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the United States. This is a fully remote role with regular travel to active sites and occasional visits to the San Francisco HQ.

You will lead projects from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality. EPC delivery experience and leadership are essential, with willingness to travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering utility-scale solar, battery storage, or large energy projects.
• Experience managing projects from pre-construction to commissioning and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of EPC project delivery and contract administration.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, forecasting, and change management.
• Familiarity with interconnection, substations, and grid-connected renewables.
• OSHA 30 certification (or willing to obtain).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to project sites across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects from construction handover through commercial operation.
• Manage overall project performance, including budget, schedule, forecasting, risk, and reporting.
• Coordinate internal teams across development, engineering, procurement, finance, and construction.
• Support commercial negotiations and oversee EPC contractor performance throughout.
• Coordinate procurement activities for major electrical equipment and long-lead materials.
• Review project designs to identify constructability risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Ensure projects remain on track to achieve contractual, utility, interconnection, and commercial operation milestones.
• Prepare financial reports, project forecasts, and executive updates.
• Support contractor selection by reviewing proposals, technical submissions, and execution plans.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and compliance.
• Implement and manage project controls covering: Health & Safety, Quality Assurance / Quality Control, Cost Management, Schedule Management.
• Build strong relationships with utilities, landowners, permitting agencies, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Construction Managers, and field teams while promoting collaboration across the project lifecycle.
