Job summary

Welty Energy & Infrastructure (WE&I) is seeking a Project Manager to lead the Substation and Transmission Line Project Management team. The role focuses on planning, organizing, and directing the engineering, design, procurement, and construction activities for major capital projects and programs in the electric utility sector.

The position is remote, but requires in-person presence in New Jersey or the Philadelphia area for site travel (approximately 10-20%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or relevant experience in electric utility project management.
• Minimum of 6-14 years of experience in project management for the Utility sector (electric power such as Substation or Transmission).
• Electric utility project management preferred.
• PMP preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with all applicable stakeholders on your project to ensure communication across the lines throughout the life cycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact with the client regarding your project.
• Conduct technical reviews of specifications, drawings, contracts and other construction documents for constructability.
• Conduct and direct project planning and status meetings to ensure schedule and financial adherence.
• Provide schedule updates of the engineering, construction, and budget status to management teams.
• Oversee and coordinate construction package reviews, pre-award meetings, site visits, and walk-downs.
• Act as the single point of contact for Construction on submittals and coordination of project information.
• Ensure outages are identified and communicated to avoid schedule interruptions.
• Assist the Portfolio Manager with coordination, preparation, and reporting of activities on construction projects.
• Perform site safety inspections regularly at project locations.
• Focus on stakeholder interaction and client expectations when planning and executing projects.
• Follow project management tenets to estimate, monitor, and control funding, resources, schedules, and activities.
