Job summary

Hydrogen Group currently seeks a Project Manager for Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects. The role supports development and pre-construction efforts, coordinating across development, engineering, estimating, procurement and scheduling to align technical, commercial and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate brings 5+ years in project management within renewable energy or large-scale engineering, with strong stakeholder management and MS Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience.
• Strong project coordination, scheduling, budgeting and organisational skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrixed organisation.
• Strong analytical, financial and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience developing project scopes, managing deliverables and identifying project risks.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard project management software.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and stakeholder meetings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and pre-construction delivery of multiple BESS projects.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to meet milestones and schedules.
• Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling and Construction teams.
• Develop project scopes and executable construction plans.
• Coordinate environmental, regulatory, land acquisition, and interconnection requirements.
• Support permit considerations and PPAs/GIAs negotiations.
• Ensure engineering deliverables and technical documentation are aligned with project costs and feasibility.
• Identify opportunities to optimise scope, schedule, and constructability.
• Facilitate handover to construction management with clear scopes and plans.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and leadership.
