Job summary

IES is seeking a Project Cost Analyst for a remote role. The analyst will support project teams with timely, accurate and meaningful financial information, handling financial project management, project accounting, financial reporting, and budgets/forecasts while developing internal control policies and procedures.

The role requires a strong finance background with exceptional Excel skills, and can involve travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work with limited supervision.
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience on large projects ($2M+).
• Experience with general ledger and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Plans for, manages, monitors and maintains project profitability.
• Works with project accounting to ensure costs post to ledger correctly.
• Manages project cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition.
• Participates in cost review meetings with project team.
• Prepares budgets and forecasts and reports variances.
• Prepares monthly/quarterly forecast reports.
• Researches technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Supports month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensures quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Collaborates with project personnel to prepare project reporting.
