Job summary

Desoutter Industrial Tools is seeking a Project Application Engineer in Detroit, MI (remote). You will translate RFQs into customized automation solutions, prepare technical and costed proposals, and manage projects from order to customer acceptance.

The role requires an engineering degree and 3+ years in manufacturing/project engineering, with PLC/Fieldbus knowledge, CAD (PTC Creo), and Lean methods to drive profitable, on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required (Bachelor's or higher).
• 3+ years in manufacturing or project engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer RFQs and requirements into customized assembly and automation solutions.
• Develop technical and commercial proposals, including costs, financial analysis, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Manage projects from order through installation, commissioning, testing, and customer acceptance.
• Coordinate with Sales, Service, Engineering, suppliers, and customers to deliver projects on time and to specification.
• Support design and manufacturing of custom electromechanical, tooling, fixture, and automation solutions using CAD and global engineering resources.
• Identify solutions that remove bottlenecks, improve quality, and increase customer productivity.
