CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to join the Power & Manufacturing Sector Finance Team. The role supports project financial performance, contract compliance, billing, and reporting across power delivery, industrial, and manufacturing projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years of project accounting or similar experience.
• Understanding of revenue accounting, invoicing, financial tracking, and project management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial administration of an assigned project portfolio, including project setup, revenue methods, rates, budgets, organizational assignments, and intercompany billing in Deltek Vision.
• Review budget-to-actual variances, coordinate with project teams on updates, and maintain accurate estimates and project plans.
• Evaluate subconsultant invoices for accuracy and coordinate with Accounts Payable for timely cost recording and payment.
• Generate and review project financial reports, identify items needing follow-up or escalation.
• Support financial projections and forecasts by identifying risks, opportunities, write-offs, and margin impacts.
• Review contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and subcontractor terms, ensuring compliance with requirements and policies.
• Maintain key project documentation and assist with audits.
• Prepare draft invoices, obtain approvals, and submit invoice packages within timelines.
• Monitor unpaid receivables and unbilled costs, coordinating with client Accounts Payable.
