Job summary

Carter Architectural Millwork is seeking a Project Accountant to manage project accounting, billing, AR, and compliance from startup through closeout. Based primarily in CAM’s Georgia location, there is flexibility for remote work where appropriate to support accurate earned revenue tracking and timely invoicing.

The role collaborates with project management, operations, and leadership to ensure month-end close, compliance, and documentation packages are complete.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in project accounting within construction or project-based environments.
• Strong understanding of project compliance, billing, and contract administration.
• Experience with monthly invoicing, percent complete tracking, AR monitoring, and collections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication across departments and clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain project configurations and compliance tracking.
• Manage monthly invoicing, schedules of values, and percent complete.
• Monitor AR, track collections, and support cash flow.
• Prepare AIA applications and lien waivers per contract requirements.
• Close out projects with complete financial documentation and warranties.
• Collaborate with estimating, management, and operations for financial discipline.
