Job summary

Jobgether SRL, listing on behalf of a partner, seeks a Professional Fee Coding Auditor based in the United States for a fully remote role. You'll audit inpatient and outpatient professional-fee coding, ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance, and favorable reimbursement impact across facilities within a large healthcare network.

The role requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H credentials, 2+ years coding experience, 3+ years of consulting experience in large hospitals, and strong knowledge

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H credential from an accepted organization
• At least two years of professional coding experience in the applicable area
• At least three years of consultant experience reviewing records in large tertiary-care hospitals and outpatient organizations
• At least three years of education and training experience, including presenting audit findings
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, E/M, modifiers, and coding compliance

Responsibilities

• Independently audit inpatient and outpatient professional-fee coding for accuracy, documentation support, compliance, and reimbursement impact
• Evaluate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, E/M services, modifiers, professional components, and bundling
• Verify provider information, scope of practice, billability, and documentation supporting reported professional services
• Review diagnoses and procedures in EHRs and audit tools according to sampling requirements
• Identify incorrect, missing, unbundled, upcoded, downcoded, or noncompliant codes and modifiers
• Document audit findings with supporting authority, financial impact, risk assessment, and corrective actions
• Maintain minimum audit accuracy of 95% and participate in calibration activities
• Contribute to audit work plans, data collection tools, facility reports, and progress updates
• Review preliminary findings with HIM leadership, COR, management, and facility staff
• Prepare or support final reports on coding accuracy and education needs
• Develop and deliver facility-specific coding education and support exit conferences
• Protect sensitive health information and comply with privacy, security, and remote-work requirements
• Maintain credentials and complete all audits, reports, training and access requirements
