Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc in Raleigh, North Carolina, seeks a Production Engineer to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, improving processes, safety, quality, and productivity while supporting new product introductions.

You will analyze production data, lead root-cause analyses, and implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous‑improvement initiatives in collaboration with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with process improvement, troubleshooting, and manufacturing optimization.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
• Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, cost, quality, and throughput.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues, quality concerns, and process interruptions.
• Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, standard work instructions, and process specifications.
• Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve overall plant performance.
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production transfers.
• Investigate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or process enhancements.
• Monitor production KPIs and develop action plans to achieve operational targets.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
