Job Overview
Our Client is a licensed national mortgage brokerage and matching platform (NMLS-registered) dedicated to providing non-conventional financing solutions for homebuyers who do not qualify for traditional mortgage products. Operating by placing borrowers with a robust network of participating private investors, our client delivers essential homeownership paths to non-traditional earners. Built on transparency, compliance rigor, and long-term channel relationship building, our client fosters a collaborative environment where consultative sales execution directly expands real estate partner networks and funded loan volume.
The Role
Our Client is seeking a resilient, consultative, and unscripted Remote Product Specialist to drive outbound business development and manage borrower files from initial contact through closing. Reporting to the Marketing & Sales Director, this team member will conduct structured outbound calling blocks to real estate agents and referral partners, qualify prospective borrowers over the phone, initiate soft credit authorizations, collect income/financial documentation, and maintain client contact through closing alongside the underwriting and transactions team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts high-volume outbound calls to real estate agents, brokers, and industry referral partners to build long-term pipeline relationships.
- Holds credible, unscripted conversations with prospective partners, navigating non-fixed pricing structures and complex borrower criteria.
- Follows up persistently with referral channels and previously unengaged contacts to position alternative financing options for non-conventional buyers.
Borrower Qualification & Documentation Intake
- Conducts initial phone qualifications, gathering information on borrower location, identification type, income structure (1099, P&L, bank statements), and down payment availability.
- Explains and sends soft credit pull authorizations, reassuring borrowers of zero credit score impact and managing follow-ups until signed.
- Collects necessary financial documentation (bank statements, tax documents, ID copies) with persistent follow-through.
- Hands off complete borrower files to the underwriting team while remaining the primary point of contact for the borrower through loan closing.
CRM Maintenance & Compliance Integrity
- Logs all partner touchpoints, borrower details, and pipeline stages accurately inside Zoho CRM.
- Strictly adheres to mortgage compliance guidelines, maintaining honesty and transparency with partners and borrowers rather than guessing or improvising unverified terms.
Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies
Required Qualifications
- Outbound Sales Track Record: Demonstrable experience in outbound phone sales (cold or warm calling) where the candidate actively built their own pipeline rather than relying purely on inbound leads.
- Consultative & Unscripted Sales Ability: Proven capability to hold natural, engaging sales conversations without relying strictly on a rigid script, comfortable saying "I don't know yet, let me find out and confirm" to protect compliance.
- Rejection Resilience & Long-Cycle Persistence: High stamina and self-motivation to navigate long lead-nurturing cycles with real estate agents before realizing pipeline revenue.
- Financial Services / Lending Aptitude: Strong appetite and ability to learn complex mortgage and alternative lending frameworks quickly.
- CRM Discipline: Excellent administrative habits for logging phone activity and tracking document updates in Zoho CRM or similar platforms.
- Fluent English Communication: Fluent written and spoken English skills to build rapport with US real estate agents, loan officers, and borrowers.
- Schedule Alignment: Full availability during US Eastern Time business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET).
- Remote Workspace Infrastructure: Dedicated quiet home office, modern computer setup, HD webcam, headset, and high-speed reliable internet connection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in mortgage brokering, residential lending, insurance, auto finance, or commercial financial services.
- Experience selling through referral channels (e.g., real estate agents, brokers, financial advisors).
- Prior experience working in an evolving startup setting where products, pricing structures, or technology systems were updated over time.
Benefits & Compensation Details
- Base Pay: $10/hr during the initial 45-day training and onboarding period, shifting to $8/hr base pay.
- Application Bonuses: $10 for company-sourced approved applications; $30 for partner/realtor-referred approved applications.
- Closing Commissions: 0.2% commission on funded loan amounts (e.g., $400 on a $200k loan, $600 on a $300k loan, $1,000 on a $500k loan) plus a $200 one-time bonus on the specialist's first funded loan.
- Quarterly Volume Bonuses (Senior PS Tier): Tiered bonuses starting at $1,000 for $3,000,000 in quarterly funded volume, scaling by $500 for every additional $1,000,000 funded without a cap.
- Clear Career Progression: Defined performance pathway to advance from Product Specialist (2 closed loans/month target) to Senior Product Specialist (3 closed loans/month target, earning higher hourly rates when mentoring trainees).
- 100% Remote Infrastructure: Execute mortgage origination support and partner development remotely from anywhere in Latin America.
