Affirm is reinventing credit with a remote-first mindset. We are looking for an early-career Application Security Engineer who enjoys reading code, learning security craft, and helping product teams launch securely.

You will assess application risks, support vulnerability management, and contribute lightweight tooling and automation. You will read application code and configuration, review pull requests in GitHub, and collaborate with product, engineering, risk, and compliance teams to frame

Qualifications

• 0–2+ years in application security, software engineering, or related fields.
• Foundational programming ability in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin, or similar.
• Comfort reading and reasoning about code.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product and engineering teams to identify application security risks and frame them as clear business risks.
• Read application code, configuration, pull requests, logs, and docs to understand system security.
• Contribute small code changes, scripts, detections, or automation to improve AppSec workflows.
• Review code changes in GitHub and collaborate with engineers on remediation.
