Job summary

OpsLevel in Canada is seeking a product engineering leader who will own problems from end to end: understanding customer pain, shaping the solution with product and design, building it, and shipping. You’ll watch how it gets used and decide what the next version should look like.

You’ll collaborate daily with agents and engineers to build a robust platform using Rails, GraphQL, MySQL, Docker, and Kubernetes, while improving internal tooling that routes work and guards against issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Rails web development.
• Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Strong MySQL data modeling and query optimization.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience shipping customer-facing features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer problems and lead solutions with product and design.
• Talk to customers, join calls, read support threads, and observe usage.
• Maintain high-quality code with tests and peer reviews.
• Build internal software factory to route work from Linear to agents and back to human review, plus metrics.
• Keep ownership mindset and flag technical debt or architectural improvements.
• Mentor teammates and drive best practices in Rails, GraphQL, and data design.
• Lead explorations and prototypes to validate solutions before committing.
