Remote Product Counsel — Privacy for Health Tech

Solace is seeking a Product Counsel to partner with our Product organization from early design through launch, ensuring privacy-by-design and practical legal guidance that balances risk with speed. This role is remote, with occasional travel to the Redwood City headquarters.

You will advise Product and Engineering teams on HIPAA/HITECH, state privacy laws, data flows, and vendor agreements, and help draft terms of service, privacy notices, and disclosures.

Qualifikationen

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 3–6 years’ experience counseling product and engineering teams on privacy and technology matters.
• Strong healthcare privacy and data-protection foundation—HIPAA/HITECH plus U.S. state privacy laws.
• Nice to have: privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/US); health-data marketing/ad-tech familiarity.

Aufgaben

• Serve as the primary legal partner to Product and related-Engineering teams, advising across the full product lifecycle—from early design through launch.
• Lead privacy assessments for new features and services, including AI-powered features, and translate results into concrete product requirements.
• Draft, negotiate, and maintain the user-facing legal layer of our products—terms of service, consents, privacy notices, and telehealth-related disclosures.
• Advise on data-sharing arrangements and vendor/partner integrations, coordinating with compliance teams on BAAs and DPAs.
