Job summary

Brunswick Corporation, a global marine leader, seeks a Product Application Engineer to provide technical support to Mercury Marine partners and customers. Based in Central Florida, you will drive new product development, tool creation, and close collaboration with OEMs to ensure propulsion systems install successfully.

You will coordinate product changes, perform installations audits, and train OEM technicians while traveling to support boat builders.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or Technical Marine Certification with equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of marine engines, engine systems, electronic controls, and system engineering methods.
• Knowledge of marine industry and basic vessel design.
• Able to perform vessel testing, troubleshooting and repairs; proficient with computers & common software.
• Exposure to 6 Sigma problem solving tools.
• Ability to participate in team-based work groups.
• Ability to communicate well both written & oral.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
• Strong negotiation and selling skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective when dealing with difficult situations.
• Basic project management skills.

Responsibilities

• New product development programs and launches.
• Gather fact-based VOC data and communicate to the organization.
• Communicate Mercury new product changes to boat OEMs via ACTION presentations.
• Assist boat builders with integration of marine propulsion systems.
• Manage BOMs, structural reviews, installation & sea trial reviews.
• Document vessel personalities, performance optimization, issue resolution.
• Champion resolution of current product concerns.
• Create clear problem definitions and manage interim containment at the OEM.
• Implement permanent corrective actions and prevention.
• Document issues in Mercury's CPR System.
• Ensure OEM installations meet Mercury Marine requirements.
• Conduct annual installation audits and address installation issues.
• Support integration of current products into new boat models.
• Support propulsion system installation training for OEM technicians.
• Create and manage vessel personalities.
• Participate in product improvements and technology advancement projects.
• Support dealer meetings and customer events as required.
