Job summary

Brunswick Corporation is seeking a Product Application Engineer to provide global technical support for Mercury Marine delivery partners and customers. You will participate in new product development, create engineering tools for quality propulsion system installations, and coordinate with marine manufacturers to develop system engineering solutions for propulsion problems.

The role is based in Central Florida with critical support to marine manufacturers in that region.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or other Technical Marine Certification with equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of marine engines, engine systems and electronic controls
• Knowledge of System engineering Methods
• Knowledge of marine industry and basic vessel design
• Able and willing to perform in vessel testing, trouble shooting and repairs
• Exposed to and/or working knowledge of 6 Sigma problem solving tools
• Ability to communicate well both written & oral
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills
• Strong negotiation and selling skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective when dealing with difficult or unexpected situations
• Basic Project Management Skills

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development programs and launches
• Assist boat builders with integration of marine propulsion systems
• Ensure OEM propulsion system installations meet Mercury Marine's installation requirements
• Perform and document annual installation audits on current production boat models
• Support training of OEM installation technicians
• Create and manage vessel personalities
• Participate in product improvement projects and new technology advancements driven by customer needs
• Support dealer meetings and customer events as required
