Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Agent to provide on‑site procurement support from the Downers Grove Refinery Support Center. You will create and administer purchase orders, outlines, and contracts, using SAP and market research to optimize value while meeting safety and delivery requirements.

The role requires a four‑year procurement background, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and TWIC eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with four years of procurement or sourcing experience.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating terms, pricing, and supplier agreements.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP system.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• TWIC eligibility required for unescorted facility access.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions and issue POs in SAP to procure materials and services for CITGO units.
• Establish reliable sources of supply and evaluate supplier performance.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to maximize value.
• Coordinate with Legal, Risk, and Accounts Payable on contracts and amendments.
• Maintain supplier records and monitor KPIs and supplier performance.
