Job summary

Baillie Lumber Co. is seeking a Procurement Forester / Log Buyer to work in a remote setting serving West Central Wisconsin, Southeast Minnesota, or Northeast/Central IA.

The role requires traveling daily to logging sites, scaling and purchasing timber, and coordinating trucking while maintaining data records. The ideal candidate has 2 years of forestry-related experience and a forestry degree or equivalent technical training, with proficiency in Excel and communication tools.

Qualifications

• Requires two years in a forestry-related setting with some log/timber buying experience.
• Degree from a two-year technical program or 4-year forestry-related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to logging sites and timber sales.
• Scale, grade logs and trees.
• Direct negotiation or bid purchases.
• Coordinate trucking for timber movements.
• Upload scale data to computer and maintain records.
