Job summary

The Baillie Group is seeking a Procurement Manager for our Reedsburg, WI facility. You will oversee parts and consumables purchasing for maintenance and production, manage RFQs, and maintain accurate Fiix CMMS inventory across 2,000+ SKUs.

You will work closely with maintenance technicians, mill production, export leads, and Baillie central procurement to ensure timely parts availability and process efficiency. The role requires on-site presence and strong Excel and vendor-management skills.

Qualifications

• On-site presence at Reedsburg, WI facility is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate/bachelor in related field is a plus.
• Background in sawmill, woodworking, or heavy industrial maintenance preferred.
• Fiix CMMS experience and strong Excel skills for tracking and reporting requested.
• Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Process parts and consumables purchase requests from maintenance and production.
• Issue RFQs to vendors and evaluate quotes on price, lead time, and quality.
• Place purchase orders through approved vendor channels and track open POs.
• Receive shipments, verify part numbers, and stock parts to Fiix locations.
• Maintain inventory across 2,000+ active SKUs in Fiix CMMS.
• Run cycle counts, reconcile variances, adjust reorder points based on usage.
• Support kiosk and scanning workflows and upcoming Fiix tablet transition.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with key MRO vendors and escalate issues.
• Maintain receipt documentation and ensure safety policies are followed.

The Baillie Group is one of North America's largest hardwood lumber manufacturers, distributors, and exporters. We are a provider of hardwood logs, hardwood lumber and proprietary grade hardwood lumber products.

Midwest Hardwoods, under Baillie Group management, is searching for a Procurement Manager in Wisconsin at our Reedsburg, WI facility. The Procurement Manager is responsible for keeping the mill supplied with the right maintenance and operating parts at the right time, manages vendor relationships across our MRO portfolio, and maintains accurate inventory in Fiix CMMS. The role is the operational backbone of the maintenance supply chain and partners daily with maintenance technicians, mill production and export leads, and Baillie central procurement.

Procurement Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Processing parts and consumables purchase requests from maintenance and production
• Issuing RFQs to vendors and evaluating quotes on price, lead time, and quality
• Placing purchase orders through approved vendor channels and tracking open POs
• Receiving incoming shipments, verifying part numbers and quantities, and stocking parts to correct Fiix locations
• Maintaining accurate inventory across 2,000+ active SKUs in Fiix CMMS
• Running periodic cycle counts, reconciling variances, and adjusting reorder points based on usage trends
• Supporting kiosk and scanning system workflows for technician-driven inventory transactions, including the upcoming transition to tablet-based Fiix CMMS workflows on the shop floor
• Managing day-to-day relationships with key MRO vendors
• Escalating sourcing problems, quality issues, and warranty claims, and identifying alternate sources for high-risk parts
• Maintaining receipt documentation
• Adherence to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures

Procurement Manager Requirements:

• On-site presence at our Reedsburg, WI facility required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related technical field is a plus
• Background in sawmill, woodworking, or heavy industrial maintenance environments preferred
• Comfort with CMMS (Fiix experience is a plus)
• Solid Excel skills for tracking and reporting
• Strong attention to detail with part numbers, pricing, and documentation
• Effective written and verbal communication with vendors and the shop floor
• Familiarity with mechanical parts such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, bushings, sprockets, chain, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Experience with cloud-based inventory systems preferred
• Ability to work independently in a safe and effective manner
• Adherence to safety policies
• Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs occasionally
