Job summary

Nationwide seeks a Consultant in Procurement Category Management to lead strategic sourcing for technical and high‑value categories, including SAAS licenses and offshore outsourcing. You will shape supplier strategies, negotiate terms, and drive measurable savings while partnering with Finance, Legal and IT.

The role follows a SuccessFlex model with three remote days and two in‑office days per week, primarily in Columbus, OH, with on‑site collaboration on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in supply chain, procurement, business, finance, accounting, MIS, economics or related fields preferred.
• Procurement, purchasing or project management designations applicable.
• Typically eight or more years of experience in all aspects of supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Partners with Business Partners, Finance, Technology and Procurement to manage new sourcing requests and current contract pipelines for multimillion dollar categories.
• Conducts industry research and benchmark analysis; establishes category strategy and monitors trends.
• Forecasts demand, service levels, TCO models, and contract risk with business units and procurement partners.
• Facilitates competitive bid activity (RFP/RFQ/RFI); negotiates terms and documents savings for Finance approval.
• Assesses supplier risk with Information Risk Management, Technology Review Boards, Privacy, etc.
• Aligns category goals to maximize utilization of approved suppliers and sustainable best practices.
• Mentors and trains new associates on procurement policy and processes.
