Job summary

AMG & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Processing Archivist for a full-time contract to organize, describe, and preserve archival collections.

You will develop finding aids, maintain catalogs, and ensure access in line with standards while coordinating with librarians, researchers, and records managers. The role requires a Bachelor's in History or related field, 3+ years of archival experience, and proficiency with archival systems and metadata.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in History, Archival Studies, Library Science, Information Science, Records Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional archival processing experience.
• Strong understanding of archival arrangement, description, accessioning, preservation, and collection management.
• Experience developing finding aids, inventories, catalog records, or descriptive metadata.
• Familiarity with archival standards, cataloging, digitization workflows, and preservation procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and meticulous documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, arrange, and describe archival collections and records.
• Process materials from accessioning through final storage.
• Develop finding aids, inventories, and descriptive metadata.
• Ensure materials meet preservation and access policies.
• Support digitization and manage archival databases and CMS.
• Collaborate with archivists, librarians, researchers, and stakeholders.
