Job summary

Eis group usa is seeking a Processing Archivist on a full-time contract basis. The role focuses on managing archival materials, preserving records, and developing collection documentation to improve access to physical and digital resources.

The successful candidate will have strong research and organizational skills, with experience in archival description, inventories, and metadata. Remote or hybrid options may be available depending on access requirements and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archival Studies, History, Library Science, Information Science, Records Management, or related field.
• 2–3 years of archival processing, library collections, or information administration experience.
• Knowledge of archival arrangement, description, cataloging, and preservation practices.
• Experience maintaining inventories, metadata, finding aids, or digital collection records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital documentation tools.
• Familiarity with archival databases, collection management systems, or digital repositories.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, and organize archival materials and records.
• Arrange and describe collections per archival standards.
• Create and maintain finding aids, inventories, and catalog records.
• Assess preservation needs and proper storage of materials.
• Maintain databases, metadata, and processing documentation.
• Support digitization projects and verify digital records.
• Collaborate with library staff, researchers, and records managers.
• Retrieve archival materials for authorized research requests.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow access policies.
• Monitor schedules and meet deadlines, suggest workflow improvements.
