About the Role

Our client, a global leader in developing and implementing cutting-edge mining technology solutions, is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Process Optimization Specialist . This role is ideal for an individual passionate about leveraging data analytics and advanced technologies to improve efficiency and productivity across mining operations worldwide, all from a remote location. You will work collaboratively with diverse operational teams to analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, and develop data-driven strategies for enhancement. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data from various mining processes (e.g., comminution, flotation, leaching) to identify areas for optimization.
• Develop and implement models for process simulation, forecasting, and performance improvement using data analytics and AI/ML techniques.
• Collaborate remotely with on-site engineers, geologists, and operations managers to understand challenges and implement solutions.
• Design and test new process control strategies and algorithms to enhance recovery, throughput, and product quality.
• Develop clear and concise reports and presentations on process performance, optimization findings, and recommendations.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in mining process optimization and automation.
• Contribute to the development of digital twin models and advanced analytics platforms.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and training on optimization techniques across the organization.
• Ensure that optimization efforts align with safety, environmental, and economic objectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to process performance.

Requirements

• A Master's or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering, optimization, or a related role, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HSC Chemistry) and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods, machine learning, and AI to solve complex industrial problems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences remotely.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies is a plus.
