Job description

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and analytical Process Optimization Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our chemical manufacturing processes across various sites. You will be responsible for analyzing existing operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, and the ability to work autonomously in a virtual environment. This is a unique opportunity to drive significant operational improvements without the need for relocation, contributing directly to our client's success from anywhere. The focus will be on leveraging advanced analytical techniques to achieve superior process performance. The requirement to work remotely means we are seeking self-starters who excel in independent work environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve yield, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Design and conduct experiments (DOE) to test process improvement hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with site-based engineering and operations teams to implement optimized processes.
  • Develop and maintain process models and simulation tools for performance analysis.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining findings, recommendations, and implementation plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure sustained process improvements.
  • Stay current with advancements in process optimization techniques and technologies.
  • Ensure all proposed changes comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Provide remote technical support and guidance on process-related issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, with a proven focus on optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and process simulation tools.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage time efficiently, and maintain strong communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with virtual teams.
Benefits

Our client offers a competitive salary package designed to attract top talent, along with performance-based incentives. Comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan contributions, and ample paid time off are provided. This role is fully remote, offering unparalleled flexibility in terms of work location and hours. We support our remote employees with the necessary tools and resources to ensure productivity and success. Professional development is encouraged through access to online courses, webinars, and virtual conferences. This position allows you to make a substantial impact on our operations from anywhere, supporting our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
