Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Pre-Access Authorization Specialist I to verify insurance eligibility, secure prior authorizations, and manage related denials to support patient financial health.

You will verify demographics, eligibility, benefits and authorizations, contact patients or providers when authorization is unsecured prior to service, escalate unresolved issues, and maintain productivity, due diligence, and quality standards in line with our mission and values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent OR 4 years of revenue cycle experience.
• Minimum of 2 years insurance authorization experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify and update patient and guarantor demographic data.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations; follow up on appeals and denials.
• Contact patients/providers when authorization is unsecured prior to service.
• Escalate issues which cannot be resolved independently.
• Maintain departmental/individual work queues and review self-quality for due diligence.
• Meet or exceed productivity, due diligence and quality standards.
• Promote mission, vision, and values and abides by service behavior standards.
