Job summary
Marqeta is seeking a Principal Software Engineer on the Core Issuing & Processing team to drive high-impact projects from inception to completion. You will own the technical roadmap for the core platform, write and review code across the issuing and processing stack, and mentor engineering leads to elevate organizational excellence.
The role supports a Flex First, remote work model in the United States with National locations.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Experience developing and scaling microservices using cloud technologies (AWS).
- Security, scalability, and test-driven development are prioritized.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap and system designs for scalable card issuing and processing products.
- Write, review, and optimize code across the issuing and processing stack.
- Drive high-impact initiatives to improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor technical leads and promote engineering excellence across teams.
- Apply modern best practices to increase resiliency and scalability of the platform.
