Job summary

Avalara is seeking a Principal Product Manager, E-commerce, to lead the product-led growth motion for online sellers. You will own the growth funnel, from signups to activation, and drive value through pricing, packaging, and onboarding experiences across Avalara’s e-commerce portfolio.

Based in Seattle, WA, with remote-friendly options, you will collaborate with engineering, design, and growth teams to deliver self-serve experiences and a fast-paced experimentation engine, focusing on helping

Qualifications

6+ years of product management experience in growth or self-serve roles.
Proven success with growth metrics (activation, conversion, retention, expansion).
Experience with freemium/freef-trial or self-serve monetization models.
Experience building on/integrating with e-commerce platforms or app ecosystems.
Strong analytics skills including funnel/cohort analysis and A/B tests.
Technical fluency with APIs and integrations; strong communication.

Responsibilities

Define vision, strategy, and roadmap for online sellers and growth funnel.
Shape UX from first visit to meaningful onboarding and upgrade decisions.
Own app listings, integrations, and in-platform connection flows for activation.
Drive revenue through pricing, packaging, and upgrade prompts as the business grows.
Build an experimentation engine to test onboarding, paywalls, and in-product messaging.
Leverage AI to personalize onboarding and simplify setup for non-experts.
