SailPoint Technologies Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of Atlas, our Identity Security Platform. You will shape architecture, guide engineering leaders, and translate business goals into scalable technical execution.

This remote-first role requires deep SaaS expertise, mentorship, and strong communication to drive strategic technology choices and ensure reliability at scale for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in a Software Platform Architect role, designing and driving the technical design of large-scale SaaS software.
• Deep understanding of modern technologies and paradigms and are excited to learn new ones (e.g. Golang, Docker, Redis, Postgres, GraphQl, Python, Kafka, Terraform, Timescale, AWS)
• Extensive experience in modern SaaS architecture & platforms, REST & other API concepts, design patterns, messaging, security, availability, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience decomposing monoliths and moving to distributed systems
• Product minded: You can turn complex business requirements into working software that our customers love to use.
• A positive and collaborative demeanor, combined with the ability to coach, mentor and delegate
• Superior communication skills
• Life‑long learner- you stay up to date with technology trends, spend time learning new technologies, and share your leanings with your team.

Responsibilities

• Translate business insights into actionable technical roadmaps for SailPoint’s Identity Security Platform.
• Architect systems that scale to process billions of events and millions of users.
• Provide architectural leadership across data architecture, data integration, security and cloud technologies.
• Set the standard for excellence in engineering by advocating design and coding best practices.
• Lead the implementation of new services and product offerings with world‑class engineers.
• Present and communicate technological leaps to executives and stakeholders.
