Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Principal, IT Strategy & Operations Manager, a senior individual-contributor who partners with Technology VPs, Finance, and business leaders to shape IT strategy and drive disciplined execution, including budgeting, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting.

This remote role is open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. It focuses on cloud program financial operations, dashboards, and cross-functional governance, with emphasis on AI, automation, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in IT strategy, technology finance, business operations, consulting, transformation, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and investment governance.
• Strong knowledge of cloud economics, FinOps, cloud-provider billing, and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Partner with VPs to define transformation priorities and investment choices, translating IT recommendations into business cases and measurable outcomes.
• Identify and advance AI, automation, analytics, and process improvements to boost efficiency and decision quality.
• Manage cloud-program budgets, forecasts, milestones, funding requests, and reporting in alignment with governance structures.
• Coordinate professional-services funding requests and governance reviews, guiding procurement and forecasting.
