Lumen Technologies is seeking a Principal Architect, Cloud FinOps, to guide cost-aware cloud strategy across a multi-cloud landscape. The role partners with Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Finance, and Product teams to align architecture with financial accountability and performance goals.

Qualifications

• 12 years of enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, or technology strategy experience.
• 8 years of public cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• 5 years of FinOps, cloud economics, cloud governance, or cost optimization experience.
• Proven experience influencing executive stakeholders and enterprise decisions.
• Strong business acumen with financial modeling and budgeting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern multi-cloud architecture standards and reference patterns.
• Lead FinOps integration into architecture and engineering practices.
• Drive cloud optimization via migration, rightsizing, and cost controls.
• Establish governance for cloud consumption, tagging, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and leadership to enable cost-aware innovation.
• Present strategies and ROI analyses to executives; mentor teams.
