Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Engineer for Chronosphere, the observability platform built for containerized systems. As a trusted guide, you will define standards, mentor teams, and shape scalable, reliable systems across AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes, while embracing AI-native tooling to accelerate

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in high‑scale infrastructure roles
• 7+ years in at least one backend language (Go, Python, Java, C++, or Rust)
• 5+ years building/debugging systems on AWS or GCP with Kubernetes
• Deep knowledge of Linux internals, process management, resource isolation, networking
• Experience with distributed tracing and performance optimization

Responsibilities

• Solve complex distributed systems problems at the largest scales.
• Scale production infra globally using Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS.
• Build and operate highly scalable backend services in Go.
• Develop internal tools to monitor, alert, and optimize live production footprint.
• Architect and build high-scale developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines; manage IaC with Terraform.
