Job summary

IREN seeks a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Innovation, to translate innovative standards into practical designs for data center infrastructure. You will guide cross-discipline collaboration, develop cooling system layouts, and ensure alignment with company standards across NGDC and IMDC programs.

The role requires 12+ years in mechanical engineering with HVAC expertise, travel up to 35%, and a PE preferred. IREN emphasizes sustainable solutions and scalable modular systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience with HVAC and cooling systems in data centers or similar.
• Experience delivering design deliverables suitable for construction and procurement.
• Ability to work across innovation/development and project execution environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal SME in mechanical/HVAC engineering for next-generation data center infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain mechanical design deliverables (layouts, schematics, CFD analyses, design basis documents).
• Support NGDC & IMDC programs with design development, reviews, and issue resolution.
