Job summary

E Source is seeking a Principal Engineer, Grid Engineering and Interconnection to lead a team of transmission planning engineers and own critical interconnection studies. The role focuses on reliability, stability, and power quality analyses for utility clients across North America.

You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and drive high-impact projects from scoping to delivery while collaborating with global colleagues to scale capacity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of power systems analysis experience.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Proven leadership of teams and client engagements.
• Deep proficiency with PSS/E for load-flow and transient stability analysis, and ASPEN for short-circuit analysis.
• Experience with PSLF, PSCAD, or DSA Tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of transmission planning and interconnection study engineers.
• Own client relationships and delivery of interconnection, stability, and reliability studies.
• Oversee the quality of power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, and short-circuit analyses.
• Conduct studies including generator/load interconnections, transmission planning, and economic analyses.
• Prepare and review technical reports to meet reliability, regulation, and quality standards.
• Manage project scope, staffing, cost, and schedule across multiple engagements.
• Contribute hands-on to complex or high-impact studies with the team.
• Partner with global colleagues to scale capacity and deliver consistent, high-quality work.
• Drive business development by shaping proposals and identifying new client opportunities.
