Job summary

At E Source, we’re seeking a Principal Engineer, Grid Engineering and Interconnection to shape how our insights drive utility decision-making. You’ll lead a team of transmission planning engineers and own client relationships on interconnection studies.

You’ll work 100% remotely with infrequent travel and collaborate with utilities, IPPs, and ISOs across North America. A strong background in power systems analysis and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of power systems analysis experience including 3+ years leading engineers, projects, or client engagements
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Deep proficiency with PSS/E for load-flow and transient stability analysis, and ASPEN for short-circuit analysis
• Experience with PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, or DSA Tools
• Leading stability studies, congestion analysis, and cost modeling across one or more ISOs
• Knowledge of generators, wind, PV, and BESS; protection and control basics
• Understanding reliability standards and interconnection processes
• Strong client relationship management and delivery on time and budget
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of transmission planning and interconnection study engineers
• Own client relationships and delivery of interconnection, stability, and reliability studies
• Oversee power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, and short-circuit analyses
• Conduct studies on generator and load interconnections, transmission planning, and economic analyses
• Prepare and review technical reports ensuring reliability and quality
• Manage scope, staffing, cost, and schedule across engagements
• Contribute hands-on to complex studies alongside the team
• Partner with global colleagues to scale capacity and quality
• Drive business development by shaping proposals and opportunities
• Represent E Source to utilities, IPPs, and ISOs for executive audiences
